This report constitutes an update to the one published on 9 March (ETT 85), following displacement caused by armed attacks that occurred starting on 8 March 2026 in the West department, more specifically in the neighborhoods of Jammeau – Fourgy – Dorigol, Lerbourt – Sibert, Village La Renaissance – Les Orangers, and Silvina – Madelaine, located in the municipality of Croix-des-Bouquets, as well as in the neighborhoods of Martial and Village des Rapatriés – Menetas, located in the municipality of Cité Soleil.
These attacks led to the displacement of approximately 2,945 people (822 households). The large majority of displaced persons (75%) found refuge with host families, while 25% settled in five pre-existing sites that existed prior to these incidents, as well as in two newly established sites.
The priority needs reported include access to food, non-food items (NFIs), and drinking water. In addition, among the displaced population are infants, pregnant women, and breastfeeding women, indicating the presence of particularly vulnerable groups within the displaced population. The DTM continues to monitor the situation and will publish updates as necessary.
