Context

The attacks in Kenscoff on the outskirts of Portau- Prince, which started on 27 January, have continued, driving further displacement. There are now 4,169 people (881 households) displaced because of these attacks, according to the latest report by IOM. Of those displaced, 2,954 (71%) found refuge with host families, while 1,215 (29%) are living in 4 newly created sites.

• On 13 February armed groups set fire to the State University Hospital of Haiti (HUEH), which has been closed since February 2024 due to previous attacks. The ongoing targeting of health facilities and the damage caused will make it even more difficult for this hospital to reopen, thereby limiting access to essential health services. The Humanitarian Coordinator condemned the attack. In the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area (ZMPAP) only 41 per cent of health facilities with beds are fully functional.

• As of 14 February, US$46 million had been provided to implement the 2025 Humanitarian Response plan in Haiti – 5.1 per cent of the total needed (US$908.2 million).
