GlobalMedic continues to provide clean drinking water in Haiti

GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team landed in Port-au-Prince on October 6, 2016. Since then, the team has been installing and distributing water purification units in Roche a Bateau, Arniquet, Torbeck, Maniche and other communities surrounding Les Cayes.

To date, the team has installed 7 point-of-source water purification units, capable of producing a combined 140 litres of clean drinking water every minute. Additionally, close to 1,000 household water purification units have been distributed, serving 4,000 people. The team has also distributed 192,000 Aquatabs (10L).

A second Rapid Response Team has arrived in Haiti to continue distributions. Another 2,300 Household Water Purification Units will be distributed, as well as 96,000 additional Aquatabs (10L). More aid will be shipped from Canada in the coming weeks.
