Foreign ministry's statement on earthquake in Haiti

The following is a press release dated Jan. 14.

With regard to massive loss of life and property in Haiti caused by an earthquake on January 12, the Government of the Republic of Korea extends deepest sympathy and condolences to the Haitian government and people, and hopes that Haiti makes a swift recovery from the earthquake damage.

The Government of the Republic of Korea has decided to provide emergency humanitarian aid worth 1 million dollars, including the provision of emergency relief supplies and the dispatch of emergency rescue teams, in order to support the recovery efforts of the Haitian government and people, and join the international community in its humanitarian assistance activities.
