HIGHLIGHTS

• Heavy floods during the weekend resulted in the death of 51 people, 140 wounded and 18 missing persons and 13 591 houses were flooded and 820 destroyed according to the latest situation report of the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC). Regarding health infrastructure, five health facilities were impacted (3 Ouest department; and 2 in the Sud-Est department).

• A 4.9 earthquake hit the Grand’ Anse area at 5:11 am this morning causing some damages to infrastructure and causing, 36 wounded and 4 deaths reported so far according to partial information published by the DGPC.

• The National Unit for the Response to Emergencies (UNGUS) of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) is coordinating the evacuation of severely wounded patients from the earthquake area to Port-Au-Prince.
