Earthquake in Haiti: Charles Michel suggests an emergency B-Fast meeting to plan the shipment of aid equipment
Development Cooperation Minister Charles
Michel has decided to free up funds to provide emergency aid for the population
of Haiti, one of the world's poorest countries, which has just experienced
an earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale.
To decide how much money is required and ascertain the needs of the Haitian population, Belgian Cooperation Development is currently contacting the international agencies and NGOs active in Haiti.
In addition, Minister Michel is going to suggest to his fellow ministers responsible for defence and foreign affairs respectively that a meeting be held very soon within the framework of the Belgian first aid and support team B-Fast.
