Brother's Brother Foundation receives $48 million donation of pediatic antibiotics and other medicines

In September and early October 2004, Brother's Brother Foundation (BBF) received more than three tractor trailer loads of children's antibiotics and other medicines valued at over $48 million, to aid in the treatment and health of children and adults world wide. In particular, BBF is responding to needs as a result of the recent hurricanes.

Trailers will be loaded at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, October 6, 7 and 8. These shipments will be sent in coordination with partner agency Food For The Poor. A shipment with partner agency, Catholic Medical Mission Board, will be sent valued at $200,000. The above mentioned shipments have a value of $2 million each, and are made up entirely of pediatric antibiotics and will go to those in need in Haiti and Jamaica. A shipment of antibiotics valued at $1.9 million will go to Honduras. Paraguay will receive five pallets of the antibiotics valued at $300,000. A shipment of antibiotics valued at $1,500,000 will go to Nicaragua.

The Brother's Brother Foundation is a 46-year old Pittsburgh based international charity, has provided more than 70,200 tons of medical supplies, textbooks, food, seeds, and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in over 110 countries using a combination of gifts from the general public, corporations and the US government. In 2003 alone BBF provided almost $130,000,000 of relief help to those in need.
