Operational Updates

In February 2024, WFP launched the operating process of the School Connect platform by organizing a five-days training in 25 pilot schools. Fifty head teachers were reached in 11 prefectural focal points.

In collaboration with Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS), WFP equipped two schools in Kissidougou with solar panels and smart power meters, refrigerators, electric lightning, and phone charging points.

Resilience efforts were focused in Nzérékoré where WFP organized a training on regenerative agriculture, provided by two Brazilian experts and a member of the Headquarters’ staff to more than 50 people.

WFP’s health supply chain implemented a pilot workshop through USAID funding in Kankan. The workshop was focused on the Medical Countermeasures Plan (MCP), a supply chain template for emergencies.

As an illustration of WFP’s commitment towards local communities, the Complaints and Feedback Mechanism (CFM) has been highly improved. Group sessions were organized to procure feedback and strengthen the impact of WFP posters, along with the implementation of pilot committees dedicated to complaints management. A total of 190 requests were received and addressed by the CFM.

To advance the Comprehensive Food Security and Vulnerability and Nutrition Analysis Survey (CFSVA), WFP implemented a coordination mechanism for technical activities and organized a workshop in Kindia to develop information collection tools.
