The prompt vaccination campaign in Cabo Delgado and Niassa provinces in Mozambique has been crucial for addressing the measles outbreak but still needs improvement in coverage. Combining vaccination efforts with nutritional assessments and de-worming addresses underlying health issues that could worsen measles mortality. Sustained surveillance and swift resource mobilization are essential for fully containing the outbreak and preventing future occurrences. All partners providing technical and financial support to the country through the different response sectors, including WASH, health, food security, protection, nutrition, and education sectors, among other things, are to scale up their efforts to support the humanitarian response and prevent further deterioration of the situation.
