HIGHLIGHTS

  • The country officially declared the yellow fever outbreak in Dabola (Faranah) on January 12th. No additional confirmed case has been reported since then.

  • The health districts of Guéckédou and N'Zérékoré were affected by 81 notified suspected cases of Lassa fever, with 5 confirmed cases (4 in Guéckédou and 1 in N'Zérékoré; 3 men and 2 women; 2 deaths).

  • The health district of Siguiri notified 3 suspected cases of poliovirus type 2, in July. The samples were sent to South Africa for sequencing.

  • 11,369 children (6,367 boys and 5,002 girls) aged 6 to 59 months with severe wasting, including 2,071 children with medical complications, were treated nationwide, in 438 health centers, with the support of UNICEF and its partners.

  • 15,000 people benefited from enhanced infection prevention and control interventions in 7 health facilities in the prefectures of Guéckédou and N’Zérékoré, during the response to Lassa fever.
