Guinea, Liberia – Ebola (ECHO, WHO) (ECHO Daily Flash of 31 May 2016)

  • On 31 May, Guinea will yet again be declared Ebola-free, having finished its 42-day period without any EVD cases since the last recurrence in March 2016. It is expected that Liberia will also be declared Ebola-free on 9 June. However both countries will remain in a state of heightened vigilance for a further period of 90 days.
  • ECHO continues to fund projects in Guinea and Liberia that are contributing to improved epidemic surveillance and response capacity.
