A Strategic Review on food and nutritional security situation in Guatemala with emphasis on chronic malnutrition is being finalised.
The first “Healthy-Not-Hunger” Global Dinner, catered by Chef Alex Quintana, was held in Guatemala City on 12 January. High-level national authorities, UN Resident Coordinator Rebeca Arias and important members of Guatemala’s private sector industry and the media attended this event.

As part of its nutrition activities, WFP continued supporting food assistance to nearly 22,000 children aged 6-24 months. Stocks of specialised nutritious food were stored in cooperating partners’ local warehouses.
The United Nations Emergency Technical Team (UNETE), co-led by WFP and by UNICEF, met in January to assess the food security situation and humanitarian priorities based on the drought outlook. Capacity development workshops were scheduled for 2017.
