The National Coordinator for Disaster Reductions (CONRED) has responded to at least 100 emergencies in different departments of the country during the rainy season from the month of May. As a result, one hundred sixteen thousand people have been affected. Two thousand people had to be evacuated due the conditions of rain and hurricane Earl, which affected the country last week, especially in Petén and Izabal. (OS: DIARIO DE CENTRO AMERICA)
