For thirteen consecutive days, more than 4,900 people, including women, pregnant women, men, minors and elderly, from the massive migratory flow from Honduras, have received humanitarian assistance from the Guatemalan Red Cross.
Guatemalan Red Cross has provided prehospital care, transfers to health centers, psychosocial support, distribution of water for consumption, reestablishment of contact between family members, monitoring with units in the migratory route and accompaniment to the Migrant Houses located in Esquipulas, Guatemala City and Tecún Uman.
Trained volunteers have been deployed to the aid statin installed by the Guatemalan Red Cross to provide a timely response to people who arrive with problems of dehydration, hypertension, respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, muscle aches and foot injuries.
The Guatemalan Red Cross emergency operations center is constantly monitoring the situation and keeps its 20 Guatemalan Red Cross Delegations nationwide on alert.
