The volcanic activity of Fuego Volcano is decreasing, but ash fall is still affecting nearby communities, including San Pedro Yepocapa, Panimaché I and II, Morelia, Santa Sofía, Los Yucales, and El Porvenir, as registered by the National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology (INSIVUMEH).
According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), 818 people have been evacuated, and nearly 37,000 people have been affected, mostly due to the ash fall.
The National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) continues to monitor the volcano, coordinating with local authorities and territorial coordinators, and implementing procedures established in the National Response Plan for this kind of events.
