The CONRED System has carried out different procedures with the objective of meeting the needs of the Guatemalan population during the current rainy season, among which the coordination of actions for emergency response, the Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis -EDAN stand out. - and the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected people.
The National Response Plan -PNR- promotes working on humanitarian aid focused on reducing sectoral humanitarian gaps, to mitigate the impact and collateral effects that disasters generate on the population. As part of said help delivered to affected people, there are the following supplies:
- Pure water
- Mats
- water purifying bucket
- Poncho blankets
- kitchen kit
- Family hygiene kit
- Cleaning kit
- Family rations
The departments of Alta Verapaz, Escuintla, Huehuetenango, Petén and Quetzaltenango are the places where the delivery of Humanitarian Aid has been carried out in accordance with the established response procedures.
According to report 61 issued by SE-CONRED on May 30, 129 incidents associated with the rainy season have been recorded, serving 455,554 people in the country through the CONRED System. Given this, the population is recommended to have their 72-hour backpack ready, get involved in the Local Response Plan of their community and report any emergency or disaster situation to 119.
