Tropical cyclone YUTU has weakened but remains an intense typhoon as it moves north-west over the North Pacific Ocean and Philippine Sea. Strong winds and storm surge are still affecting the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam. On 26 October at 0.00 UTC its centre was located approx. 1 950 km south-east of Babuyan Islands and Batanes Islands (Luzon Strait, northern Philippines), with maximum sustained winds of 241 km/h (intense typhoon).
