Situation Update: Unaccompanied Children (UAC) in Greece (as of 30 November 2017) [EN/EL]

• 3,300 Estimated number of UAC currently in Greece based on analysis of data available to EKKA (as of 30 November 2017)

• 1,130 Total number of places available in UAC shelters (filled, pending assigned cases as of 30 November, including 45 vacant places)

• 2,201 Total number of UAC on waiting list for shelter (as of 30 November 2017) including:

•425 in Reception and Identification Centers •80 in protective custody Waiting list does not include referrals of unknown location carried out during pre-registration exercise. Waiting list includes 183 separated children. 10,175 Total number of UAC referrals to EKKA from 1 Jan 2016 to 30 November 2017.

Out of the total:

•9,513 boys (93%)

•662 girls (7%)

•605 <14 years old (6%)
