Since 21 January, intense rainfall has been affecting several areas of Greece, causing severe flooding that resulted in casualties and damage.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reports, as of 23 January, two fatalities, one in Glyfada town in Attica region and one in Astros Kynourias of eastern Peloponnese, both in central Greece. In addition, 61 people have been transferred to safe areas. Traffic and public transportation disruptions have also been reported across the Peloponnese, Western Greece, Epirus, and Attica regions.

On 23-24 January, drier conditions are expected across Greece with local light rain over the eastern part of the country.
