On 22 May at 3.16 UTC (22 May at 6.16 local time), an earthquake of 6.1 M occurred in south-eastern Greece. The epicentre was located over the sea approximately 59 km north-northeast of Neapoli Lasithiou, northern Crete island.
USGS PAGER estimates that up to 192,000 people were exposed to moderate shaking.
According to media, as of 22 May, the earthquake was felt in Egypt, Israel and Türkiye.
There are no reports of casualties or damage so far.
