The Iranian Red Crescent polyclinic was inaugurated by the presence of Dr. Mohammad Farhadi, President of Iranian Red Crescent in Accra, Ghana on September 16th, 2014.
The Ghanaian Minister of Health, President and Secretary General of the Ghana Red Cross Society, Ambassadors of Iran, Russia, China, Cuba, India, Sudan, Morocco, Nigeria as high ranking foreign authorities, as well as a number of senior officials of Ghanaian Ministries and government agencies and the private sectors presented in the opening event.
During the inauguration ceremony of the Iranian Red Crescent polyclinic in Ghana, Dr. Farhadi spoke about Red Crescent activities at the international level and stated, ”The establishment of Iranian Red Crescent polyclinic in Accra today is the result of 25-year confidence of Ghanaians to the Iranian Red Crescent medical services in this country”,. He also stressed on the expansion of medical and health cooperation based on the MoU signed between the Red Crescent Society of Islamic Republic of Iran and the Ghanaian Ministry of Health.
Pointing out to the strategic location of Iranian Red Crescent medical centre in his country, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Ghanaian President said, ”The establishment of this medical centre is a symbol of philanthropic and humanitarian services by the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran and therefore it shall be complimented for their services in this area,”.
At the end of the event, Dr. Pahlevaniyan, head of the Iranian Red Crescent’s medical centres in Ghana introduced and explained various wards and parts of the centre and the types of services and plans of this centre for the future after the opening ceremony.
