Russia says peacekeepers attacked in Abkhazian conflict zone

(Tbilisi February 13, 2003. Civil Georgia) - Russian Peacekeepers' checkpoint deployed in the Abkhazian conflict zone was fired on February 13, causing no casualties, Russian media sources reported quoting peacekeeping forces' leadership.
Georgian authorities could not confirm that fact of attack against the Russian peacekeepers' checkpoint.

On the same day in town of Zugdidi, western Georgia, near the administrative border with breakaway Abkhazia, unknown persons attacked the Russian peacekeepers' lorry with the fire-bomb. No casualties reported.
