The purpose of this report is to provide the update on the current operations undertaken after TC Winston.
This Situation Report is issued by the National Emergency Operation Centre and covers the period from 0800-1600, 07/03/2016. Updates in this report summarise all reports and briefs submitted from various EOC’s in the four divisions.
1.0 HIGHLIGHTS OF LAST 8 HOURS

0800 hours-Fiji Roads Authority [FRA] Situation Report # 63 to advise on FRA assets with further details attached as Appendix 1 which has now been superseded with the issuance of Fiji Roads Authority [FRA] Situation Report # 64 at 1244 hours.

0900 hours-Request from DIVEOC-Central-CCD on behalf of Fiji AgroMarketing Authority [AMA] team consisting of Six [6] personnel [incl. driver & 1x3 ton truck-FO200] received at 0900 hours requesting clearance to travel to Koro island to purchase Yaqona and other crops damaged by TC Winston and also load relief materials.

0933 hours-Media alert received from Minfo for the Hon. Attorney General, Mr. Aiyaz Khaiyum to receive a cheque from Digicel Fiji at 11:00am this morning at Level 7,Suvavou House for the Hon. Prime Ministers’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation fund. Confirmed to be $100,000 at 1458 hours/pm.

0940 hours-Media alert for media publicity received for the Hon. Minister for Education, Dr. Mahendra Reddy to receive education supplies from UNICEF delegation at Nadi International Airport at 1530hours.

0945 hours- Media alert for media publicity received for Director-Disaster Management to hold s media briefing at the Media room at Level 2 at 1530 hours. This request has however been moved forward to 1500 hours as per update on 1150 hours.

1015 hours-Confirmation from FEA through Mr. Tawake [Team Leader] that their restoration team will reach Vuci South Road this afternoon or by tomorrow morning

0956 hours-Situation report received from the Ministry of Education at 1900 hours as at Sunday-06th March, 2016 on the total number of schools damaged and the summary of schools affected, summary is given in the Agency updates.

1000 hours-Situation report received from Vanuabalavu on the current operations undertaken on the island.

1031 hours-Request for immediate distribution of rations which was conveyed to the Hon. Prime Minister’s office as affected families in DrasaLautoka have not been issued with rations and teachers have been forking out of their pockets to feed these students of Drasa primary and secondary school.

1034 hours : Request to the NEOC for assistance from the DIVEOCCentral-CCD requesting for knives, files, brushcutter and wheelbarrows to assist in the clean-up from under the Nausori bridge.

1136 hours - Request to the NEOC from EOC Korovou for the TNK Naigani village to provide a boat to wait at QVS at 0900 hours/am tomorrow morning to transport workers to Qoma and Naigani to test water for drinking,

1105 hours- Situation Report # 03 received from the HMS Canterbury in Vanuabalavu and the tasking noted with the situation overview in Munia,Yacata and the assessment of damages in Vanuabalavu.

1117 hours- Telecomm Fiji Limited [TFL] is contacting NEOC offering assistance for the use of their generator set in Vunidawa to be used by the PA Vunidawa’s office.

1150 hours-Email received from a member of the public directing request to NEOC, requesting immediate assistance to his/her family in Nukuloa-Ba and urgently in need of shelter, clothes and food.

1400 hours- Situation report from DIVEOC-West to NEOC on update of Seven [7] ECs with Twelve [12] families of Fifty [50] people. Ten [10] trucks to pick UN Aid at Nadi Airport,Batiri-Sigatoka requesting for water and more staff and vehicle for PS-Sugar to assist in assessment.

1406 hours-Request to the Hon.Prime Minister’s Office from the Fiji Muslim League Report # 01 directed to the NEOC on possible assistance from NEOC for goods coming into the country to be FOC subject to NDMO clearance and also Fifty [50] containers to be sent to the Hon.Prime Minister’s Relief and Rehabilitation project.

1438 hours-Email to NEOC from Korovuto-Nadi from Ms Maraia Tagitagi requesting shelter, food ration and clothes for her family of Six [6] children.
