The purpose of this report is to provide the update on the current operations undertaken after TC Winston.

This Situation Report is issued by the National Emergency Operation Centre and covers the period from 1600 hours 03/03/2016 to 0000 hours on 04/03/2016. Updates in this report summarise all reports and briefs submitted from various EOC’s in the four divisions.

1.0 HIGHLIGHTS OF LAST 12 HOURS

BAF Restricts Movement of Live Animals/ Carcass and Bee Hives& Equipment within Fiji during Emergency Period.

Deployment of 30 Police Special Response Unit Personnel to man duties at the Vunimono Hall Logistics Base, Nausori from 0800h 4 Mar 16. Deployment is parcel of the 60 Manpower initially committed by COMPOL for DISMAC Operations.

Water samples from Qoma have been taken for testing by MOH officials after suspected cases of typhoid.

6 Tarpaulins for Naluwai and 1 for Waitolu were dispatched today.

DVEOC continued ration distribution today to 13 villages and settlements in the Wainibuka area.

Sawanikula and Bucalevu roads still closed however most roads in Central Division are open.

Mosquito and Disinfectant Spraying carried out at Dawasamu District and Dawasamu Secondary schools and also at Driti village.

5 trucks distributed basic necessities in Rakiraki and Nadarivatu district.

Monitoring of NGO distribution ongoing in the Western Division.

WAF expediting works to resolve water issues and repair broken pipes around DAC Settlements and the greater Rakiraki Rural Community.

Education Ministry Northern have mapped out strategies and contingency plan for category C schools to be opened on 7th March 2016.

Ration delivery to Nasau Tikina could not be executed as crossing was flooded. Further attempt will be made in the morning.
