The purpose of this report is to provide the update on the current operations undertaken after TC Winston.

This Situation Report is issued by the National Emergency Operation Centre and covers the period from 0000 hours to 0800 hours on 03/03/2016. Updates in this report summarise all reports and briefs submitted from various EOC’s in the four divisions.


(i) Wives of Prison officers in Naboro, Korovou and Nasinu distributed clothing and beddings for villagers in Nasinu, Lolomalevu Settlement, Silana, Nataleira and Driti.

(ii) Telephone calls can now be made to Bua via Vodafone.

(iii) Donations to the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Rehabilitation Fund Account was received from:

  • Zaid Engineering Limited - $3,000.00

  • Vunika Sanatan Faag Ramayan Mandali - $200.00

(iv) Larval spray was carried out in the Nasinu, Lolomalevu, Nataleira, Driti and Silana areas.

(v) MV Vunilagi departed Lautoka Wharf at 0120hrs with one month rations for the villages in the tikinas of Yasawa, Nacula, Waya, Viwa and Vuda.

(vi) A total of 29 schools are still without water in the Lautoka, Nadi and Yasawa Districts

(vii) Sharmila Prasad of Waimari, Ra complained that she has yet any food ration and assistance. DIV EOC West has informed District EOC Ra to investigate this claim.

(ix) Two FNPF Teams are currently based at the Tailevu North District at Nayavu and the Social Welfare Office in Korovou.
