The purpose of this report is to provide the update on the current operations undertaken after TC Winston.

This Situation Report is issued by the National Emergency Operation Centre and covers the period from 0800 to 1600 hours on 02/03/2016. Updates in this report summarise all reports and briefs submitted from various EOC’s in the four divisions.

1.0 HIGHLIGHTS OF LAST 12 HOURS

  • Accident at Wailotua - A container truck transporting Sodium Cyanide went off the road in Wailotua, Wainbuka yesterday. Clearance of the container continues today where Police Korovou and Fire officers have secured the area last night. Spillage assessment will continues today. The driver of the truck has been hospitalised and the General Manager for M.Y Group of Companies was detained by the police officers in the Nausori Police Station for questioning.

  • MV Iloilovatu and Vatulawa departed Suva at 2345hrs from Suva for Taveuni. Ration scale for 1 month. Iloilo Vatulawa left Suva at for Nabouwalu & further to Savusavu. Ration Scale is for 2 weeks both for south Bua/Cakaudrove. All rations unloaded in Taveuni to be accounted and ration scale for a month provided to DOT with remaining rations to be dropped at Savusavu.
