National Emergency Operation Center: Tropical Cyclone Winston Situation Report 120 of 27/03/2016

This Situation Report is issued by the National Emergency Operation Centre and covers the period from 0800 hours-1600 hours on Sunday, 27/03/2016.
Updates in this report summaries all reports and briefs submitted from the four (04) Divisional Emergency Operation Centres (DEOC’s).

1.0 HIGHLIGHTS OF LAST 12 HOURS

• The flight 9VSFP from Singapore landed at Nadi International Airport at 0732hrs this morning, 27/3/16. Consignment was received by the Divisional Commissioner Western Mr. Manasa Tagicakibau. A total of 89 tonnes of relief items consisting of generators, tents, tarpaulins and pillows was received from the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

• The outpost of Vanuabalavu District EOC has confirmed that the Solander has ran-aground at Qilaqila passage at Mualevu, Mavana after carting water to Cikobia Island.

• Water Authority of Fiji is currently upgrading water system and water treatment at Totogo, Levuka Vaka-Viti and Waitovu village.

1.1 STATUS SUMMARY

• Number of deaths remained at 44 when this report was compiled.

• Eastern division still has twenty six (26) active Evacuation Centres with 361 evacuees.
