HUMANITARIAN assistance continues to pour in for those affected by the recent floods in the Western Division.
This after the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund received a further $15,000 from a local engineering company and the Ministry of Education this week.
Industrie Safety and Civil Limited managing director Amarjit Singh handed over a cheque of $10,000 to Mr Bainimarama.
“This is a little gesture from us to assist those facing hard time right now,” Mr Singh said.
The Ministry of Education led by the Minister, Mr Filipe Bole and ministry permanent secretary Doctor Brij Lal presented their assistance in a Fijian traditional ceremony.
The Ministry donated $5000 in cash and 30 cartons of clothes to assist provide relief to those affected by the floods.
Prime Minister Bainimarama thanked the education sector for their help towards the victims of the flood especially the children.
He also thanked the ministry for their quick response to the floods in organising to keep schools open and working out the logistics of getting children from badly affected areas to schools so that their education was not affected.
Meanwhile, the United States of America Ambassador Frankie Reed paid a courtesy call to the head of Government today.
