I. HIGHLIGHTs/key priorities

  • Flooding continues after more rain fell in the wake of TC Daphne, but water levels are now steadily receding from flood affected areas.

  • The Government of Fiji has declared a State of Natural Disaster for parts of the Western Division, populated by approximately 190,000 people.

  • Access to basic services, food and assistance remains a problem with large areas, roads and bridges still under water or washed away and water and electricity supply damaged.

  • A list of requested items has been submitted by the Government of Fiji to donor agencies based in country, including health, WASH, non-food items and aerial surveillance.
