Highlights
· Category-five Cyclone Winston crashed into Fiji Islands on February 20, 2016 bringing winds of over 320km/h, torrential rain and waves of up to 12m. It is estimated to be one of the most severe ever to hit the South Pacific.
· The Fiji National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) is in charge of coordinating the international community efforts. The Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) has not been officially activated in response to Cyclone Winston, but is working with the government to support a coordinated response.
