The National DISMAC has been activated. And those needing assistance are required to contact DISMAC officials on phone 3313400.

DISMAC has reported that Naqali Bridge is under water and closed to all traffic. It also reports of a landslide in Colo i Suva which has forced traffic to be diverted through the Kings Road.

People living in low lying areas in the Central Division have been asked to take extra care and move to higher grounds as more flooding is expected.

Motorist and members of the public have been warned that the following areas have been flooded as a result of heavy rain since last night:-

  • Wainadoi, Wailoku Flats,
  • Wailea River Road
  • Milverton Road,
  • Sawani and Koronivia areas
There are also reports of flooding in Navua town and surrounding areas.

Weather predictions indicate of more rain and flooding in low- lying areas. The Nadi weather office said a heavy trough of low pressure over the Fiji group is causing the heavy rain leading to flooding.

The current weather pattern is expected to continue until Saturday.
