Members of the public in Ba have lent a helping hand in the supply of water to members of the community in the area.
Seventeen (17) bore-hole owners have assisted in the distribution and supply of water in Ba according to DISMAC officials.
These are mainly farmers living in Veisaru, Navau, Wailailai, Navoli, Koronubu, Yalalevu, Namosau and Nasolo – basically the flood affected areas in Ba.
Businesses and organisations have also helped in provision and distribution of water namely Brij Dayal and Ba Lions Club.
Brij Dayal have helped cart cleaning water to Yalalevu, Ba town and Votua while the Ba Lions Club supplied water tanks to Votua and Vatulaulau of 5000 litres each.
However, water supply to the Ba Health Centre is still to normalise but water was supplied to their tanks and also the Nailaga Health Centre and Namau Nursing Station.
Reports are that the Ba Mission Hospital has begun receiving patients complaining of diarrhoea and according to Sub-Divisional Medical Officer Ba, skin diseases are also on the rise.
