Bahir Dar, April 25, 2011 (Bahir Dar) - More than 64,300 people are protected from malaria in Fogera Woreda of South Gondar Zone in Amhara State following activities carried out to prevent malaria, the woreda health office said.
Office Head, Gebru Belay said the stated number of people are protected from malaria following spraying of anti-mosquito chemicals on over 20,680 residential houses and other activities.
Gebru said more than 27,000 residents took part in clearing of swampy areas as part of the activities carried out to prevent malaria.
