CONTEXT ANALYSIS

SOMALIA

  • The humanitarian situation in Somalia remains critical due to ongoing impacts of drought and conflict
  • 95,028 cumulative AWD/Cholera cases since the beginning of the outbreak (March 2016)

ETHIOPIA

  • Ethiopia is currently faced with a complex crisis of drought and conflict displaced populations
  • Outbreaks of malaria, measles and Acute Watery Diarrhoea (AWD) will continue to threaten children’s well-being

KENYA

  • According to FEWSNET, dry conditions prevailed over the pastoral areas in January 2018
  • A total of 817 Cholera cases resulting in 10 deaths (CFR 1.2%) have been reported in 2018
