Highlights:
- In 2025, UNICEF provided lifesaving treatment to nearly 670,000 children under five suffering from acute malnutrition across the country.
- During the same period, over 4 million women and children accessed primary healthcare services; more than 2.3 million people gained access to safe drinking water through the rehabilitation and solarization of water systems; and over 187,000 children, adolescents, and caregivers received mental health and psychosocial support.
- Throughout the year, more than 5.5 million children received supplemental measles vaccinations.
- During the reporting period, UNICEF supported over 178,000 out‑of‑school children to access formal and non‑formal education opportunities.
- Shock‑Responsive Cash Transfers (SRCTs) were provided to 57,762 households including 33,665 women‑headed households across the Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, and Benishangul Gumuz regions.
- UNICEF strengthened child protection systems by supporting case management services for more than 422,742 vulnerable children, including unaccompanied and separated children, survivors of violence, and those at risk of exploitation.
- By the end of 2025, UNICEF had received only 28 per cent of the funding required under the 2025 HAC appeal.
