Gondar, January 11, 2012 (Gondar) - Two health stations constructed in Layarmacheho Woreda, North Gondar Zone of Amhara State have gone operational, the Woreda health office said.
The office told ENA that the facilities went operational after they were equipped with the necessary materials with nearly 400,000 Birr secured from the Ministry of Health.
It said each health station has capacity to give service to close to 25,000 people.
The office said eight similar facilities were constructed during the last three years alone as per the government's plan to reduce maternal and child mortality rate.
The government assigned professionals and also allocated over one million birr to equip the facilities with the necessary materials.
