Hawassa, April 26, 2011 (Hawassa) - South Ethiopia Peoples’ State Health Bureau said following anti-malaria preempt activities has enabled it to protect over 3.2 million people from the disease.
The Bureau told ENA that spraying of anti–malaria chemical on over 427,000 houses was carried out to prevent the possible malaria out break following the short rainy season (belg),
It said it distributed 3.7 chemically treated bed nets in the past nine months.
Clearing of swampy areas carried out and close to 800,000 people received treatment in the reported period, according to the bureau.
