State endeavoring to expand quality health services

Bahir Dar, January 10, 2012 (Bahir Dar) - Efforts are underway to expand quality health services in Amhara State, the regional health bureau said.

Bureau Public relation head, Getachew Tiruneh told ENA that seven health centers have already begun rendering services in the first quarter of this Ethiopia budget year.

The number of health centers has reached 752 and efforts underway to reach 820 the target in prevention based health policy of the country, he said.

The health facilities, benefit 175, 000 people, would increase the health coverage to 92 percent.

He said the construction of 68 health centers is also underway.

The head said the regional government is exerting efforts to expand quality health service in the state.
