Gambella: Heavy rain caused flash floods and Baro river overflow. Flooding affected 4 kebeles in Gambella town, 4 woredas in Anyuwaa zone, 4 in Nuer zone, and Itang special woreda. People living along Baro river were displaced and their homes damaged by the flood.

West Guji Zone: Cholera outbreak with 1,566 reported cases and 25 deaths across nine woredas.

SNNP: Formation of new region and zones continued, including change in authorities and evacuation and transfer of regional sectors to their new assigned zones.
• Reportedly security incident on 18 September between the Somali and Oromia regional militia in the disputed border area of Babile. The incident was sparked by the transfer of the customs check point from Karamada to Qoloji, a key entry area for the lucrative khat business.
• Tragically, five IDPs lost their lives within Qoloji, and a further 20 individuals, including minors as young as seven months old, sustained injuries .
• The incident has also led to a disruption in basic services provision to the IDPs, with unconfirmed reports of displacement in and around Babile.
• Currently, the fighting remains active, and humanitarian partners' operations have been suspended. However, a local NGO was able to visit Qolji yesterday to assess the immediate needs of the IDPs.
• Preliminary reports suggest that there is a lack of standby medical teams and ambulances, and that injured IDPs were not taken to hospitals in a timely manner. Additionally, there are reports of general panic and tension among communities on both sides of the conflict.
