The number of asylum seekers and refugees as of 18 May was 4,000 out of which, 80 per cent had crossed through the Ethiopia border entry point in Metema, West Gondar Zone of Amhara Region, while 13 per cent and 7 per cent of the people crossed through Kurmuk and Pagak/Burbley entry points in Benishangul Gumuz and Gambella regions respectively. Partners insist on the need to raise awareness about protection risks around crossings.
