An influx of more than an estimated 11,000 people (IOM, 2 May) displaced from the ongoing situation in Sudan that started on 15 April, have been arriving in Ethiopia via the border town of Metema in West Gondar Zone of Amhara Region since 21 April. Of the total arrivals recorded, the largest group are Ethiopian nationals (37 per cent), followed by Sudanese (17 per cent), Turkish (14 per cent) and Eritrean (10 per cent) nationals (IOM). As a note, nationality is self-reported. Nineteen per cent of arrivals as of May 2 are minors.
