Addis Ababa, December 24, 2009 (Addis Ababa) - United Stated Agency for International Development (USAID) donated on Thursday storages for pharmaceuticals and vehicles to be used for drug transport to the Drug Fund and Supply Agency of Ethiopia.
After receiving the 8 million US dollars donation on the premise of USAID, State Minister of Health Dr. Kebede Worku said the donation will complement on-going efforts geared toward improving drug access across the nation.
USAID Deputy Director, Nancy Estes said the recent donation includes 29 heavy-duty, medium-sized, and mini drug delivery vehicles, 10 cranes, 150 refrigerators, and 7 diesel oil-operating power generators.
According to the director, the donation is funded through the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
