KEY HIGHLIGHTS

As the year draws to a close, we would like to look back at the milestones achieved this year.

1. We supported the Government in the release of a new directive on the Right to Work, giving refugees access to employment.

2. Thanks to resettlement and durable solutions opportunities, 15,000 refugees set off to a new life.

3. Digital IDs were issued to refugees to facilitate their access to basic services and improve their inclusivity

4. The Makatet roadmap to foster the social and economic inclusion of refugees is underway.

5. With UN and Government counterparts we launched the Pathway to Solutions to Internal Displacement, allowing Ethiopian families displaced to rebuild their lives after years of uncertainty.

6. In Somali region, land ownership titles and houses built by the regional authorities were handed to IDPs.

7. In Amhara and Benishangul Gumuz, we relocated thousands of refugees fleeing conflict in Sudan to safer settlements.

8. In Gambella, Tigray and Afar, agricultural cooperatives, development prospects and livelihood opportunities are on the rise.

Refugees want to be self-reliant and want to give back to the communities hosting them.

Our teams will continue working tirelessly to offer our support to all regions and provide refugees with safe spaces and opportunities to thrive.

We would like to thank the Ethiopian Government for the support and remarkable hospitality in hosting over 1 million refugees, and our donors and partners for their commitment and good work throughout the year.
