Ethiopia, Japan sign water project agreement

Ethiopia and Japan signed on Friday a water project agreement to be implemented in Somali Regional State.

State Minister of Water and Energy, Kebede Gerba and Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ethiopia Office, Koji Ota signed the agreement representing their respective countries.

Japan would provide full technical support to the project to be implemented in Gode district of the Somali Region.

The project to be launched in two months time is expected to be completed in a period of 18 months. Up on going fully operational the project would benefit some 65 thousand inhabitants.
