The Ethiopia Agricultural Research Organization (EARO) and the Japan Green Resource Agency (J-Green) reached an agreement on Tuesday to launch a new study project entitled, "Verification Study of Technologies on Natural Resources Conservation and Restoration for the Prevention of Desertification."
According to the Japanese Embassy, the implementation period of the study will be five years and the main target areas are two woredas in the Oromia region .The main objective of the study is to investigate and develop integrated technologies on micro-watershed management.
Special focus will be put on the establishment of technological combinations of water-harvesting technologies, including water-harvesting tanks, and natural resources management technologies.
