UNHCR and partners continued to respond to the sudden spike in Eritrean refugee arrivals since August 2014. More than 3,588 refugees were registered in November. The spike resulted in shortages in shelter, core relief items and health services, especially at Endabaguna reception center. UNHCR highlighted grave protection concerns due to the large number of unaccompanied minors (13 and under) and the lack of suitable and secure housing arrangements. In a new trend, large numbers of refugees were from the capital city, Asmara.
