Overview
In 2023, the ESNFI Cluster has provided Cash for Rent, Shelter Repair Kits, Emergency Shelters, and ES/NFI distributions to IDPs, returnees, and affected non-displaced communities in Tigray. However, persistent challenges remain. These include: the relocation of IDPs facing evictions from collective centers such as schools, private grey buildings, and public facilities across the region; the ongoing influx of IDPs from the Tselemti areas and western zones, particularly to Endabaguna, Shire, and Adwa, primarily driven by drought and the protracted conflict; and the continuing need to support returnees repair and rehabilitate their damaged homes.
Despite the challenges and resource constraints, the cluster has reached almost two thirds (714K/63%) of its 1.14 M targeted people in Tigray, leaving a gap of 375K (33%) that the cluster hopes to still reach as it
