Assisting IDPs and returnees in Benishangul Gumuz region, ODA/Bildigilu wereda by creating access to shelter, Provision of Nonfood items (NFI), Cash/voucher assistance and WASH, and boost the disaster response preparedness capacity of the branch are the two major objectives of the project. The project will address more than 25,000 direct beneficiaries in six different kebeles of Oda/Bildigilu woreda of Benishangul Gumuz Region.

The project was meant to implement in selected three kebeles of Oda woreda but activities could not be implemented as planned due to the civil unrest in and around the selected implementation areas. This results delay in project implementation and budget underutilization. In the other side, Thousands of people are fled out from their home due to the conflict and settled in Oda Godere, Bambasi and Sherkole IDP centers. Rather than simply waiting the improvement of security situation in and around the selected implementation kebeles, it is important to support this IDPs during the remaining few months of the 2021 and if the security allows, the 2022 project will be implemented as per the previous project plan.

In the area several market areas where both internally displaced people and hosting communities go to exchange goods and service.
