Since November 2016, 578 schools have closed and the education of 228,000 children is disrupted in drought-affected areas, mainly due to non-availability of food and water in schools. Parents and children are moving to places where food and water are available.
At the moment, there are 163,000 internally displaced school-aged children in drought affected areas.
