Sexual exploitation and abuse perpetrated by aid workers against communities they serve are acts of gross misconduct. All aid workers have an obligation to report allegations of sexual misconduct and agencies must follow up in a timely way to ensure that survivors are supported and perpetrators held to account. Sexual harassment in the workplace is also prohibited by aid agencies as it constitutes an abuse of power and responsibility. Sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment can be considered illegal under Ethiopian national law.
